    Upon receiving a call from this number there was the standard beep sound where it sounded like the number was being transferred to a different line or perhaps the caller picking was up his handset from a speaker or conference calling phone.

    Given that I receive so many spam calls it is a dead give-away when I hear the tone although on this occasion the caller was asking about health insurance and whether I might have it.

    Therefore, in attempting to hang up and to excuse myself from the conversation the caller kept asking whether he might call back at another time. In short I just wish they would stop calling in the first place.

    This number hung up 4 seconds after I answered, no voice or noise of any kind was heard.

    I’m presuming it is a nuisance call.

    This number is a company pretending to be a health insurance checking service, trying to get your information to "see if there are better deals out there". They didn't listen when I told them I had my health insurance under control and they continued to ask how to spell my first name and how old I was. When I refused and asked what is this for and I repeated that I didn't need their service as I had it under control and to have a nice day, they then said so what they're going to do now is take this information and pass it onto their specialised service team and they will be in touch soon, to which I said no thank you and he just said okay they'll be in touch have a good day and hung up? It was an extremely weird phone call and every time I spoke there was a delay in his response almost like it was automated. The responses didn't quite make sense like they should if it were a real person speaking truthfully. Very glad I didn't give them my details. Watch out for these calls.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
